Position
A position is a trader's active financial exposure to a market. In perpetual futures, a position can be long or short and has characteristics such as size, entry price, leverage, margin and unrealized profit or loss.
Why it matters to you
Opening a perp trade creates a position that remains exposed to market movements until it is closed or otherwise terminated. Understanding the position as a whole is more useful than looking only at whether the trader pressed Buy or Sell.
