What are perps?
Perpetual futures let you bet on a price going up or down, with leverage, with no expiry date. They use a small fee called the funding rate (every 8h on Binance, every 1h on Hyperliquid) to keep their price tracking the real spot price. This tool helps you size the trade before you click, so you know what you stand to lose, not just gain.

Exchange
Binance Futures is the biggest centralised venue. Hyperliquid is the leading decentralised one.
Asset
Crypto majors trade on both. Tokenized assets (XAUT, NVDA) are educational only. No live data yet.
Direction
Long = price will go UP. Short = price will go DOWN.
Margin mode
Isolated risks only this trade. Cross risks the whole account. Beginners: isolated.

How long you plan to be in the trade. Used to project funding cost.
Step 3 · Exits
Decide where you'll exit, both if wrong and if right.
Stop loss price
Where the trade auto-closes to limit losses. Always set one. Longs: BELOW entry. Shorts: ABOVE.
Take-profit ladder
Pros scale out: secure some at TP1, let some ride. The three percentages should sum to 100.
