How the score works
- 01
Money traded today earns up to 25 points. A market nobody trades has a price nobody defends.
- 02
A tight spread earns 10 points; a spread over 10 cents loses 10. The spread is what the other side keeps.
- 03
Settling in 3 to 90 days earns 10 points. Under a day loses 15: that is where the bots live.
- 04
A clear rule with a named source and a time earns 5 points. A vague rule loses 5. The rule is the bet.
- 05
Short price windows lose 40 points. Insider-prone questions and daily weather markets lose 15. A thin book loses 10. Long shots and near-certain bets lose 5.
- 06
Prices out of order, and sets of outcomes whose Yes prices add up to less than 97% or more than 103%, are noted, not scored. In theory one side of every outcome can then be bought for less than the $1 it pays. Fees and the spread usually eat it.
