Unrealized PnL
Unrealized PnL is the profit or loss associated with an open position that has not yet been fully realized according to the platform's accounting rules. It changes as the relevant price used for the calculation moves.
Why it matters to you
Unrealized losses can still have very real consequences. They may reduce account equity, available margin and the distance between a leveraged position and liquidation. A loss does not need to be realized through a voluntary close before it affects account risk.
