Stop Market Order
A stop market order becomes a market order after its trigger condition is reached. Once activated, it attempts to execute against the available liquidity in the market.
Why it matters to you
A stop market order generally prioritizes getting out once triggered rather than guaranteeing an exact exit price. During fast or illiquid markets, the actual execution price may be worse than the trigger price because of slippage.
