Trigger Price
A trigger price is the price level or reference that activates a conditional order when the platform's specified conditions are met. Depending on the exchange, traders may be able to select different reference prices, such as last price, mark price or index price.
Why it matters to you
The trigger price is not necessarily the price at which the order will ultimately execute. It tells the platform when to activate the next instruction. Traders should also check which price reference is being used to trigger the order.
