Conditional Order

A conditional order is an instruction that becomes active only after specified conditions are met. Stop losses, take profit orders and certain trigger based entries are common examples.

Why it matters to you

Conditional orders allow traders to automate parts of their trading plan. But traders should understand both parts of the instruction: What triggers the order? and What happens after it is triggered? Those are not necessarily the same thing.
