Stop Limit Order
A stop limit order activates a limit order after a specified trigger condition is reached. The trader therefore sets both a trigger condition and a limit price.
Why it matters to you
A stop limit order provides greater control over execution price than a stop market order, but it introduces another risk: the order may not fill. If price moves quickly beyond the limit price, the trader can remain in the position even though the stop was triggered.
