Last Price
The last price is the price at which the most recent trade in a market was executed. It changes whenever a new trade occurs.
Why it matters to you
The last price tells you where traders most recently bought and sold the contract, but it is not necessarily the price an exchange uses to calculate liquidation. On many perpetual futures platforms, that role is given to the mark price. Understanding the difference is important because a trader may see the last price move without their liquidation price being triggered in exactly the way they expect.
