Market Order
A market order instructs the trading platform to execute immediately against the best available prices in the order book. It prioritizes execution rather than guaranteeing a specific price.
Why it matters to you
Market orders are useful when getting into or out of a position quickly matters more than receiving an exact price. But the displayed market price is not necessarily the price at which the entire order will execute. Large orders or thin markets can fill across several price levels, creating slippage.
