Taker
A taker is a market participant whose order immediately executes against liquidity already available in the order book.
Why it matters to you
Market orders are typically taker orders because they execute against existing bids or asks. Taker fees may differ from maker fees, and aggressive execution can also expose the trader to spread and slippage costs.
