Risk Limit
A risk limit is a restriction or set of requirements a derivatives platform uses to control how much leveraged exposure a trader or position can take. Larger positions may face different margin requirements or lower maximum leverage.
Why it matters to you
A platform offering 100× leverage does not necessarily offer 100× leverage on every position size. As exposure grows, the platform may require more margin to reduce the risk created by a large position.
