Order Book Imbalance
Order book imbalance describes a difference between visible buy and sell liquidity in an order book according to a particular measurement.
Why it matters to you
A large concentration of bids or asks can show where visible liquidity is currently resting. But visible orders can be changed or canceled before execution. An order book imbalance should therefore not be treated as proof that those orders will remain or that price must react to them.
