Onchain

Onchain means information, transactions or assets are recorded or managed directly on a blockchain. For RWAs, this might include token ownership, transfers, transaction history or certain rules controlled by smart contracts.

Why it matters to you

Putting part of an investment process onchain can make records easier to verify and allow transactions to interact with blockchain based financial infrastructure. But an RWA being onchain does not mean every part of the asset exists on the blockchain. Legal agreements, custody arrangements and the underlying asset itself may remain offchain.
