Blockchain
A blockchain is a shared digital ledger that records transactions across a network of computers. Transactions are grouped and verified according to the rules of the network, creating a record that participants can independently check.
Why it matters to you
Blockchain provides much of the infrastructure used to issue, transfer and track tokenized assets. For RWAs, however, the blockchain usually records the digital representation of the investment. It does not by itself verify that an offchain asset exists, determine who legally owns it or guarantee its value.
