Commercial Bank Money
Commercial bank money is money held as deposits at commercial banks. The balance displayed in a normal bank account is generally a claim on the bank rather than physical cash being individually stored for the account holder.
Why it matters to you
Understanding commercial bank money makes tokenized deposits much easier to understand. A tokenized bank deposit is essentially bringing a familiar form of bank money onto new digital infrastructure rather than creating the same structure as a conventional stablecoin.
