Deposit Token
A deposit token is a tokenized representation of a deposit liability issued by a commercial bank. The term is commonly used when discussing bank deposits represented on distributed ledger or blockchain based infrastructure.
Why it matters to you
Deposit tokens can allow commercial bank money to interact with tokenized financial markets while remaining a liability of the issuing bank. That makes them structurally different from many stablecoins.
