Bid Ask Spread

The bid ask spread is the difference between the highest price a buyer is willing to pay and the lowest price a seller is willing to accept. If the best bid is $99 and the best ask is $101, the bid ask spread is $2.

Why it matters to you

The spread is one indication of how costly it may be to trade an asset immediately. Liquid markets often have tighter spreads, while less liquid markets may have wider spreads. This is particularly important when evaluating tokenized assets with limited secondary trading.
