Sell Pressure
Sell pressure describes market activity in which selling is exerting downward pressure on price or aggressively consuming available buy liquidity.
Why it matters to you
Strong selling can help explain downward price movement. But if aggressive sellers continue hitting the market and price stops falling, buyers may be absorbing the selling. The reaction of price to the order flow can therefore matter as much as the order flow itself.
