Secondary Market

A secondary market is a market where investors buy and sell existing assets or financial instruments after their initial issuance. For RWAs, a secondary market may allow eligible investors to trade tokenized assets with other investors rather than waiting for the investment to mature or be redeemed.

Why it matters to you

One of the attractions of tokenization is the possibility of making traditionally difficult to trade assets easier to transfer. But being tokenized does not automatically create an active secondary market. There still need to be buyers, sellers, suitable infrastructure and any required regulatory permissions.
