Primary Market

The primary market is where an asset or financial instrument is first issued and sold to investors. In tokenized markets, this is where investors may acquire newly issued tokens directly from an issuer, fund, platform or other authorized distributor.

Why it matters to you

Buying in the primary market is different from buying an existing token from another investor. The money raised in a primary issuance generally goes into the issuance or investment structure, while transactions in a secondary market usually involve investors trading existing interests with one another.
