Issuer

The issuer is the legal entity responsible for issuing a financial instrument or token to investors. Depending on the structure, the issuer could be a company, fund, SPV, financial institution or another legally recognized entity.

Why it matters to you

The issuer is one of the first parties an investor should identify. It may be responsible for important obligations attached to the investment, so understanding who the issuer is, where it is established and what responsibilities it has is an important part of assessing a tokenized asset.
