Permissionless Token

A permissionless token can generally be held or transferred without requiring each participant to receive prior approval from a central administrator. This is common across many cryptoassets, although the exact rules depend on the token and blockchain.

Why it matters to you

Not all tokenized assets can operate this way. RWAs that represent regulated securities or other restricted investments may require identity checks and transfer controls, which is why permissioned token structures are common in institutional tokenization.
