Open Interest Value

Open interest value expresses outstanding derivative exposure in monetary terms rather than only as a number of contracts or units.

Why it matters to you

The same number of contracts can represent different amounts of economic exposure depending on contract specifications and asset prices. Expressing OI in monetary terms can make comparisons easier, although changes in the underlying asset's price can also affect the reported value.
