Open Interest Change
Open interest change measures how much open interest has increased or decreased over a specified period. It may be expressed as an absolute amount or percentage change.
Why it matters to you
The direction of OI often becomes more useful when compared with price. For example: Price rising + OI rising can indicate that new exposure is entering during the move. Whereas: Price rising + OI falling can indicate that positions are being closed while price rises, which may include short covering. Neither interpretation should be used in isolation.
