Account Balance
Account balance is the amount recorded in a trading account according to the platform's accounting system. Depending on the platform, unrealized profit and loss may be shown separately from this balance.
Why it matters to you
Account balance does not necessarily tell you how much the account is worth at that exact moment while positions are open. For that, traders often also need to understand account equity.
