Token Standard

A token standard is a set of technical rules that determines how a type of token behaves on a blockchain. Standards can define functions such as how tokens are created, transferred, tracked and recognized by wallets, applications and smart contracts.

Why it matters to you

Using established token standards can make tokenized assets easier to integrate with compatible blockchain infrastructure. For regulated RWAs, specialized standards may also support features such as transfer restrictions, identity requirements or permissions.
