Stablecoin Issuer

A stablecoin issuer is the entity responsible for issuing a stablecoin and managing the obligations associated with it. Depending on the structure, the issuer may oversee token creation and redemption, reserve management arrangements and compliance requirements.

Why it matters to you

A stablecoin is not just a token and a price. There is usually an organization and legal structure behind it. Understanding who the issuer is, what obligations it has and how reserves and redemptions are managed is an important part of assessing the stablecoin.
