Real World Asset (RWA)
A real world asset, usually shortened to RWA, is an asset or financial claim that exists outside the blockchain but can be represented or used within blockchain based markets. Examples include real estate, government bonds, private credit, stocks, commodities and investment funds.
Why it matters to you
RWAs connect traditional assets with blockchain infrastructure. This allows assets that historically existed within conventional financial systems to increasingly be issued, owned, transferred or used through digital markets.
