Ratio Spread

A ratio spread uses unequal numbers of long and short option contracts within the strategy.

Why it matters to you

Unlike a standard one for one vertical spread, the additional short or long options can materially alter the payoff and risk profile. Some ratio structures may contain substantial or undefined risk.
