Net Asset Value (NAV)
Net Asset Value, usually shortened to NAV, is the value of an investment fund's or vehicle's assets minus its liabilities. NAV is often expressed as a value per share or unit, allowing investors to compare the underlying value of a fund with the price at which its shares or tokens are available.
Why it matters to you
NAV gives investors a reference point for what their share of an investment vehicle's underlying assets is worth. For tokenized funds and other tokenized investment products, comparing the token's market price with its NAV can help identify whether it is trading above or below the value of the underlying portfolio.
