Long Liquidation
A long liquidation occurs when a leveraged long position is forcibly reduced or closed after it no longer satisfies the platform's required margin conditions.
Why it matters to you
Closing a long position generally involves selling exposure. Large numbers of long liquidations occurring together can therefore add forced selling into an already falling market. This can accelerate downward price movement.
