Liquidation Event
A liquidation event is a period in which forced position closures become significant enough to materially affect market activity or trader positioning.
Why it matters to you
Not every individual liquidation matters to the broader market. A large liquidation event can be much more significant because many positions may be affected within a short period, producing unusual volume, volatility and changes in OI.
