Joint Probability

Joint probability is the probability that two or more specified events occur together. It is often written conceptually as: P(A and B)

Why it matters to you

Suppose: Event A = Federal Reserve cuts rates. Event B = inflation falls below a specified level. The probability that both A and B occur is a joint probability. This matters when comparing individual event markets with markets that require several conditions to be satisfied.
