Forecast Horizon
Forecast horizon is the amount of time between making a forecast and the event or deadline being forecast.
Why it matters to you
Predicting what happens: tomorrow is different from predicting what happens: six months from now. Longer horizons may introduce more opportunities for unexpected information and changing conditions. Forecast performance should therefore be evaluated with the relevant time horizon in mind.
