Days to Expiration
Days to expiration, commonly shortened to DTE, is the number of days remaining until an option expires.
Why it matters to you
DTE gives traders a quick way to compare the time remaining across contracts. For example: 7 DTE means an option is close to expiration. 90 DTE provides considerably more time for the underlying thesis to develop. Time decay does not affect every option or every stage of an option's life in exactly the same way.
