Trading Fee

A trading fee is a charge associated with executing a trade on a trading platform. The amount can depend on factors such as order type, trading volume and whether the order provides or removes liquidity.

Why it matters to you

Fees directly reduce trading returns. They become particularly important for active traders who enter and exit frequently or trade large notional positions. Leverage can also make a position's notional value much larger than the margin committed, making it important to understand what value the platform uses when calculating fees.
