Tokenized Stocks

Tokenized stocks are blockchain based tokens designed to provide ownership of, or economic exposure to, shares in publicly traded companies. The exact structure varies. Some products may be backed by actual shares, while others may provide exposure through a different legal or financial arrangement.

Why it matters to you

A token tracking a stock price should not automatically be assumed to provide the same rights as holding the underlying shares directly. Investors should check whether the product is backed by shares, who owns or custodies them, whether dividends are passed through, whether voting rights exist and how tokens can be redeemed.
