Source Verification

Source verification is the process of checking whether information is authentic, current and accurately represented before using it in a probability estimate.

Why it matters to you

Prediction markets can react rapidly to breaking information. A false screenshot, old headline, mistranslated statement or misleading social post can cause traders to update probabilities for the wrong reason. Before changing a position because of major information, ask: Where did this originate? Is it authentic? Is it current? Does it actually say what people claim it says?
