Risk Neutral Probability

Risk neutral probability is a probability concept used in derivative pricing under which expected discounted asset values are evaluated within a risk neutral pricing framework.

Why it matters to you

Probabilities inferred from option prices are not automatically identical to real world forecasts of what traders believe will happen. They can reflect: pricing assumptions, risk premia, market structure, and the risk neutral framework used in derivative valuation. This distinction prevents a major analytical mistake.
