Probability Sum
Probability sum is the combined probability assigned to a set of outcomes.
Why it matters to you
If several outcomes are mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive, their probabilities should conceptually sum to 100%. For example: Candidate A: 40% Candidate B: 35% Candidate C: 20% Candidate D: 5% Total: 100% In live markets, tradable prices may not line up perfectly because of spreads, fees, liquidity and market structure. But substantial inconsistencies can be worth investigating.
