Oracle Price
An oracle price is market price data supplied to a blockchain based application or trading protocol by an oracle system. It allows smart contracts to use information about asset prices that originates outside the application itself.
Why it matters to you
Decentralized perpetual platforms need reliable external price information to operate functions such as pricing, margin calculations and liquidations. If the price feed is delayed, inaccurate or manipulated, positions may be affected even when the trader has done nothing wrong.
