Contract Specification

A contract specification sets out the rules and characteristics of a derivative contract. It can include information such as contract size, margin asset, settlement currency, minimum order size, price increments, funding mechanics and other trading rules.

Why it matters to you

Two exchanges can both offer a perpetual contract for the same underlying asset while using different contract mechanics. Before trading, the trader should understand the contract they are actually entering, not assume every BTC perp works identically.
