Chasing occurs when a trader enters after a substantial price move primarily because they fear missing further movement rather than because the current price still offers value.
Why it matters to you
A contract that was attractive at: $0.40 may not remain attractive at: $0.70 even if the underlying story is unchanged. Every new price requires a new comparison with fair value.
