Calendar Spread
A calendar spread combines options on the same underlying and typically the same strike but with different expiration dates.
Why it matters to you
The strategy creates exposure to differences in: time decay, implied volatility, and pricing across expirations. Calendar spreads demonstrate why options trading is not purely directional. Two options can have the same strike but behave differently because they expire at different times.
