Anchoring Bias
Anchoring bias occurs when a trader relies too heavily on an initial number, belief or probability when evaluating new information.
Why it matters to you
You may initially estimate: 70% Strong negative evidence appears. But instead of reconsidering the probability properly, you move only to: 67% because your thinking remains anchored to the original estimate. Good forecasting requires being willing to move significantly when the evidence genuinely changes.
