Stop Distance
Stop distance is the difference between a trade's entry price and its planned stop loss level. It may be measured in price, percentage or another unit relevant to the market.
Why it matters to you
Stop distance is a key input in position sizing. A wider stop exposes each unit of the position to a larger potential loss, so the position generally needs to be smaller if account risk is to remain unchanged.
