Liquidation Distance
Liquidation distance is the difference between the current or relevant position price and the estimated liquidation price. It is often expressed as a percentage.
Why it matters to you
Liquidation distance gives traders a more intuitive way to understand how much adverse price movement separates a position from liquidation. Higher leverage generally reduces this distance when other factors remain unchanged. But liquidation distance should never replace a planned stop or risk limit.
