Exponential Moving Average (EMA)
An Exponential Moving Average, or EMA, is a moving average that gives greater weighting to more recent price data.
Why it matters to you
Because recent prices receive more weight, an EMA generally reacts more quickly to price changes than a comparable Simple Moving Average. Traders commonly use EMAs to analyze trend direction, momentum and dynamic areas of interest.
