Delta Hedging

Delta hedging is the process of offsetting some or all of a position's directional Delta exposure using the underlying asset or another instrument.

Why it matters to you

Because option Delta changes as markets move, a hedge may need to be adjusted over time. Dealer Delta hedging is important because those adjustments can create buying and selling flows in the underlying market.
